In the article “A study on the influences of labor flexibilization for business management” by Hsu et al. (2021), the authors argue that flexibilization of work affects the employees’ performance. The aim of the article by Hsu et al. (2021) is to investigate whether work flexibilization has a positive effect on the employees’ performance. Firstly, human resources are the vital asset of any organization, which requires HR managers to adopt practices that will help maximize the employees’ performance. Secondly, the authors investigate the idea that more flexibility and autonomy have a positive effect on the staff due to enhanced work satisfaction. This paper will summarize the article by Hsu et al. (2021) and provide a personal opinion.

The methods the authors use are a literature review over the course of which Hsu et al. (2020) analyzed the findings of other scholars. The findings are that flexible contracts indeed have a positive effect on the work satisfaction of the employees. The core idea is that flexibilization leads to the enhanced self-management of the employees and therefore allows them to arrange their tasks and responsibilities in a way suitable for them. Moreover, flexibilization can contribute to the reduction of the costs for the business.

Overall, this paper is a summary of the article “A study on the influences of labor flexibilization for business management” by Hsu et al. (2021) that discloses the authors’ research into work flexibilization. The authors conclude that flexibility affects both the costs and the performance of the employees. In my opinion, this article contributes to the understanding of the HR practices that contemporary businesses should adopt to achieve the maximum productivity of their resources.
