The essay argues that workplace flexibility is essential in maintaining a productive and healthy work environment. This is a topic that is deeply involved with business administration as the flexibility of working conditions frames the entire function of this field. The key points of the essay include the benefits provided by certain strategies of improving job flexibility, the advantages of workplace flexibility directed at companies, and flexibility later in an individual’s life, including retirement. These arguments help illustrate that the implementation of more flexible work conditions has universal benefits.

This essay is targeting audiences that are more conservative when it comes to managing work conditions and scheduling in order to convince them of the advantages of implementing technology and strategies that promote flexibility. Certain options such as telecommuting have more disadvantages than profits, which can be used as a counterargument against the position of this essay. The goal of this work is to outline the ways in which workplace flexibility directly affects employee welfare, the profits of the company, and the later aspects of an individual’s career. These aims will be achieved by using statistical data to illustrate the positive results in firms in which flexibility is prioritized.

Scholarly articles that analyze ways in which practical implementations of internal flexibility have affected employee productivity and wellbeing are essential. A study has found that 377 independent firms were able to notice a positive correlation between labor flexibility and objective productivity (Preneen et al., 2017). Similar studies should be used to better understand the extent of this strategy. The study above supports that flexibility increases the well-being of employees, improves product innovation, and by extent, the value of the company’s output. Additionally, the study notes that both factors are essential to the long-term survival of firms.

While productivity is difficult to measure in an objective manner it can be explored through the quality of a firm’s output prior to and after implementation of flexible work conditions.
