There are different management theories that are usually embraced by the two companies being discussed in order for the two companies to succeed. They all believe that there is a need for them to achieve their set targets. The roles and tasks of the human resource practitioners in all the two companies being discussed are mainly to control and manage the human resources to enable their respective companies to meet their set goals. The management theories being employed by the two companies is chosen depending on the kind of activities that the company is engaged in.

The human resource practitioner at Johnson & Johnson, for instance, employs the management practices that fit well with companies that involve themselves in the manufacture of household consumer products, and the human resource practitioner at Citibank, on the other hand, employs all the practices and management concepts which work well for the financial institution. This is basically because one organisation deals in the distribution of goods while the other deals in the distribution of services. The employees that are selected by Johnson have to be qualified in the area of health care services since that is their line of production, while those of Citibank needs to be qualified in the area of business and finances. Every structure that a company employs will have an impact on its stakeholders.

The stakeholders mainly include the shareholders of the company, its employees, consumers, and other partners. For instance, when Johnson performs well, consumers develop trust towards its products and makes them go for them in large quantities. It is also a strategy that is sure to attract other consumers who will hear of the positive reports of the product from their friends and family members that use the product. As Johnson committed to producing high-quality products that were reached after extensive research, most people, especially mothers, trusted them and made the trademark rule their household products. Other investors were also attracted due to its good performance and decided to buy the shares of the company. When a company performs well, there is a lot of optimism among employees who are not only assured of job security but also good pay. However, when Johnson was faced with issues in China about the baby shampoo, its sales volume reduced substantially in the country as people were worried about the health of their children. It was only after the necessary clarifications that the products picked up.

Citibank has also had a bunch of its ups and downs that have impacted its activities. The company grew substantially that it was able to acquire other financial institutions. It was also during this period of time that many people opened accounts with the bank and enjoyed a lot of services that were being provided by the company. There was a need for the company to open branches in other cities of the United States due to the increasing demand. The company also expanded to the international scene as it became necessary for them to embrace the rising demand.

The company also started implementing the use of modern technology in banking services to make transactions easier for their growing customers. All these expansions had a great impact on the stakeholders of the company who were proud to be associated with its activities. The problem, however, occurred when the company engaged in excessive lending, which made it fall into debt. The bank lacked a correct procedure of bailing itself out and decided to use customers’ savings. This was probably the most challenging period for the company that saw it lose a number of customers. The government had to intervene and help the company move out of its debts.
