Various companies face a threat from the Union of workers that they could go on a strike against the company. Now, this strike could be anything; it could end up as a protected walkout of all the workers, it could be workers yelling slogans against the management of the company, it could also be that the workers quit working for a specific time period in the organization. Strikes are very harmful and bad for the working conditions and reputation of the company. The management of the organization faces many troubles and delays in work in case of any strike from the Union of the workers of the organization. However, the reasons for causing strikes could be different. It could be that the management of the company is not providing its employees with proper wages and benefits, they are not given enough incentives to work, they are not provided with efficient safety accessories while working, and their demands are not attended to by the management. Different cases are seen in different organizations.

Now, the case of Amtrak is quite different. There was a walkout from the 8,000 workers of the company, which was postponed for the reason that the company would hold a hearing in court. The company agreed, but the court hearing was postponed because Congress failed to provide proper funds to Amtrak. Now, the employer Amtrak has nothing to do with this situation, but it still fears a strike from the workers union.

In such a situation, to minimize the effect of a strike and to please the workers, the employer should make sure that the third party is not involved in direct communications with the Union. Amtrak should pay all the debts or wages before time to the employees and should make good communication with the workers in order to have good leadership and control over its employees. Apart from that, the company should pay incentives that show that the company cares for its workers and listen to their needs with attention and devotion. After making all these efforts, the company should convey its thoughts to the workers that the company is not responsible for the cause of the delay in the court hearing and it is ready to cooperate with the employees, and expect the employees to cooperate with the management of the company in return as well.
