A flexible schedule is a work timetable in which an employee can choose a convenient beginning and end or length of the workday. Many employees’ efficiency does not depend on when they get to work, but often on their habits and lifestyles. “Larks” are known to be most energized in the morning. At this period of the day, they can handle even the most demanding tasks. At the same time, some “owls,” even in the afternoon, cannot fully immerse themselves in work. Company managers get high loyalty and maximum efficiency by allowing employees to work when they are most tuned for it.

In addition, working in a company with a flexible schedule makes it more comfortable for an employee to strike a balance between work and rest. With the ability to manage morning and evening hours, life becomes much easier. More satisfied employees show more impressive results at work, which increases the company’s chances of success. If the information exchange and control mechanism work effectively, the lack of clear arrival and departure times is acceptable. However, this is true only for those specialists who can do their work independently without sacrificing quality and do not depend rigidly on other colleagues.

The introduction of a flexible schedule system is an effective stimulus to increase labor productivity. It is about providing an opportunity to leave earlier if an employee has completed all the tasks before the official end of the working day. This technique reduces non-production costs and increases staff interest in improving product quality. However, it should be noted that the flexible schedule is not suitable for all areas of work in any case. Even in spheres where it can be used, there may still be restrictions for specific categories of employees. Flexible scheduling is a great initiative that can increase employee satisfaction and reduce costs, but its implementation has some limitations.
