Introduction

In this day and age, there is a considerable desire to alter one’s working place in order to meet one’s needs. Indeed, people may feel exhausted by commuting to downtown and communicating with coworkers that can be referred to as extra work. Therefore many of them dream of performing their job responsibilities at home wearing pyjamas being unseen and unheard. Admittedly, the advantages of online working prevail its disadvantages.

Liberation through technological progress

Indeed, many people may experience burn-outs at work because of significant amounts of the stress connected with conflicts, car accidents, the condition of their office room, constant noise, and many other factors, negatively impacting on their work effectiveness. Therefore they possibly do all their best to find a position that is sure to give them enough freedom to show the potential not being constantly disturbed by petty irritants.

An obvious solution to a problem can be a remote character of work. Unfortunately, In the past people could not afford the comforts of online working. Still, the upcoming era of gadgetry is sure to bring about the end to the office as a phenomenon due to the fact that people no longer agree to work offline. According to the recent research on the topic, people may even sacrifice salary for the sake of saving time and serenity far away from typical working places of the 20th century (Felstead & Henseke, 2017). It can be regarded as the beneficial side of telecommuting policy of big companies implementing a new style of work in life.

The most lenient control over employees

Admittedly, there are specific negative points about remote work. One of them is the difficulty in monitoring employees, who might be taking advantage of staying at home lavished with the possibility of skipping their duties. In this case, the constant development of computer programs is bound allow supervisors to keep an eye on lazy subordinates (Kelliher, Richardson, Boiarintseva, et al., 2019).

For instance, there is such a tool as Skype to organize appointments or make video calls, not informing the employees beforehand. It can help to eliminate the cases of chilling out instead of working. However, employers can hardly guess whether their employees are having a good time with friends or just fetching necessary documents from another room at home. Moreover, it would be better to implement online working for managers or lawyers, not accountants or engineers, who need not only computers for their work.

Conclusion

Nowadays, big companies do their best to optimize their employee’s working process with the help of different tools. As there are many pluses of remote work, it keeps being the current trend of corporative culture despite problems with evaluation of workers’ productivity.
