This feedback aims to analyze the student’s first and second discussion response posts regarding the decision-making process and thought leadership. There are several evident advantages of the student’s texts that make them durable and quality. First, the main idea that the student develops is that the leaders need to think about employees’ possible reactions to any decisions that they made. This thought is supported by the references and well-organized discussion.

In the initial post, the student mentions his or her personal working experience to build the argument. The situation is described succinctly but with the necessary details, and this fact allows the author to discuss the decision-making process using this example. Moreover, the student includes references to lecture notes and some reliable sources. Another strength of the post is that the Vroom-Yetton Model is effectively used to improve the decision-making process in the described situation. In the second text, the student effectively analyses the suggested post and provides sufficient feedback. To eliminate the problem of another person’s initial post, the student offers to develop a hiring protocol.

Some suggestions may improve the discussion response post and allow the student to earn the highest grade. First, it is recommended to pay attention to spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The posts have several minor mistakes, including missed commas and hyphens, verbs in the present tense instead of the past (for example, “leadership could have determined”), and extra spaces between some words. Another suggestion is to include an introductory sentence where the student states the purpose of the post. Finally, it seems that in the fifth point of the Vroom-Yetton Model, the answer does not address the initial question, and further explanations are needed.

The student’s first and second discussion response posts meet four of the five primary discussion question criteria. The posts are direct as they thoroughly answer each element of the discussion question prompt; well-supported; the ideas are clear and concise, but some minor mistakes are found. The posts are timely, and in both of them, the student demonstrates thought leadership by discussing this concept’s essence. Researchers note that “a thought leader has a positive reputation of helping others with their knowledge and insight” (Schooley, 2019). The student supports this idea and states that when making decisions, the thought leader must consider the opinions of employees. According to all mentioned above, the discussion question grade is Pass High.
