Conflict is a situation or combination of circumstances in which the differences between two people, groups, or individuals and groups are unclear or unresolved. The conflict has traditionally been viewed as a terrible and unpleasant experience. Conflict can be beneficial or harmful, but how people handle it is entirely up to them (Johansen, 2012). In a good or terrible conflict, the individuals or groups involved have a significant role in the values, beliefs, and sentiments.

Collaboration is the most effective management method for resolving conflict. Addressing the issue entails coordinating and cooperating with the other party. This is accomplished through comprehending the other party’s point of view, expressing their concerns, and reaching a mutually acceptable solution. This offers both sides a sense of fulfillment and results in a win-win situation (Cardillo, 2004). As a result, conflict resolution has an impact on the communication strategy in a conflict situation, and (Cardillo, 2004) can deal with it:

  • Conversing with the individual;
  • It is critical to pay attention to both parties;
  • Keeping the current conflict in mind, it should be settled as soon as possible;
  • Conflict should be viewed as an opportunity rather than a threat;
  • The manager should define acceptable behavior.

Conflict should never be avoided in the workplace because it can negatively impact individual and organizational performance. It is critical to address difficulties early on so that team cohesion is increased and the situation does not worsen (Zirlis, 2013). One of the ways that managers can use to resolve a conflict is to hold both formal and informal meetings regularly to discuss the team’s situation, issues, concerns, and progress, among other things (Zirlis, 2013).This aids in the development of team cohesion and the effective resolution of conflicts.
