The role a leader plays is of major importance in any organization or company. Leadership means creating the vision of the company that will guide it towards a bright future. Leadership is also a foundation for good management of the company, which is key in achieving high productivity and efficiency of the work. Hence, good leadership is the key to the success of an organization, regardless of its size and type.

It is important for Kalia to define and differentiate the roles as a manager and as a leader to achieve successful results. The role of a manager includes coordinating the plan implementation, controlling the length of stay, and managing insurance constraints of the patients (Stachowiak & Bugel, 2013). At the same time, as a leader, she has to focus on the vision of the company as a brand, planning the care of the whole patients’ cohort, and address the various needs of the organization.

In this particular case, Kalia has legitimate power over other employees and should definitely restore it. Furthermore, it would be more effective to use reward power along with legitimate power, which will only enhance the interest of employees in such organizational transformations (Klein, 2017). Moreover, to strengthen her position as a leader, Kalia should show her knowledge and skills to use expert power. In addition, if legitimate power strengthens the authoritarian organizational structure, reward power will shift the organizational structure into a more democratic style, keeping the right balance.

The relationship of the chief executive officer (CEO) with the chief financial officer (CFO) and chief information officer (CIO) plays a crucial role in organizational management. It is important for Kalia to conduct a series of meetings where the management issues and potential transformations will be discussed and solved. This way, both CFO and CIO would be involved in the decision-making process. It is important to consider other employees’ opinions as well. Round table discussion could be an effective way to raise current management and communication problems and try to solve the issues as a team.

The leadership style defines the whole structure of the organization and how it is managed. In the case of Kalia, a participative leadership style would perfectly suit the shared networking management. The key of participative leadership is to involve all employees in the decision-making process, increasing the motivation, engagement, and, thus, job satisfaction of the workers. In addition to that, the participative leadership style is a good way to create a strong team with a high productivity level.

To sum up, Kalia should clearly define her leadership and managing responsibilities to succeed in her position. Legitimate, expert, and reward powers can be used for effective control and management of other workers. Furthermore, round table discussions and meetings would increase the trust between Kalia and her employees and partners. Finally, a participative leadership style would strengthen effective management and teamwork. This way, Kalia can successfully achieve her goals.
